There has never been a better time for folks to seek out a remote spot to enjoy some solitude. Of course, those people who love the outdoors and are more introverted already recognize the benefit of communing with nature! Fortunately, most states have some fantastic secluded vacation spots, so you don’t have to go far to enjoy them. Some of these spots can be as inviting for couples as they are the outdoors person.

The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls
You might not expect to see a resort in Ohio on this list, but this inn in the Hocking Hills wilderness area stands apart from the rest thanks to its backdrop of waterfalls! Guests can choose from cabins, rooms in a B&B, and even yurts. When not enjoying time in the luxurious spa, guests can head outside for a gorgeous hike.

Alyeska Resort
This chateau nestled into the Alaskan mountain is the epitome of luxury, and it’s not just great for skiing! Alyeska Resort offers views of both the ocean and mountains can be enjoyed from the fireplace lodge thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows or from the scenic tram. Guests can head to the latter to get up-close-and-personal with nature on the hiking trails or ski. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and Portage Glacier are both a few miles away, too.

Rush Creek Lodge at Yosemite
Evergreens surround a pool and patio, which offers the perfect vantage point to watch the sunset at this lodge near Yosemite National Park. Guests checking into a premium suite or hillside villa, guests can take advantage of guided hikes and other daily activities before winding down with s’mores around the fireplace. The resort offers two hot tubs and a heated saltwater pool. Independent adventures can also check out opportunities for biking and fishing. Even kids will love the nature-themed playground.

Grand View Lodge
Minnesota is known as the “Land of 10,000 lakes,” and while that might not be factually correct, it does offer beachside accommodations. Grand View Lodge sits directly on Gull Lake in the center of the state and offers beachfront seating, docks, and swimming. With several hundred acres, there’s plenty of room for modern amenities in rooms, dining, and activities such as golf.
